The entertainment business holds another important position in Dentsu's content business.

The Dentsu Group is actively involved in investment, production and marketing in industries such as music and films, and is sharpening its competitive edge by expanding its range of top-flight content.

A prime example of these efforts is the Academy Award-winning animated movie, Sen to Chihiro no Kami Kakushi (Spirited Away). In conjunction with the film, Dentsu planned and carried out a major tie-in campaign for clients.

To exploit additional high quality content, Dentsu, together with Tohokushinsha Film Corporation, Japan's largest distributor of television broadcasting rights for foreign films and television productions, has signed an agreement with the Walt Disney Company that gives Dentsu and Tohokushinsha Film Corporation exclusive free broadcasting rights in Japan for movies, television dramas and cartoons.

In the music business, Dentsu Music and Entertainment produces music and promotes tie-ins. Dentsu is also active in the license business and merchandise business, promoting character development and licensing in order to create more chances for enhanced communication.
