The Dentsu Group creates value in its work by forging stronger ties with societies worldwide through the power of communication. These community ties extend beyond business to engender new experiences and skills within the Group. For these reasons, we believe that the Group's activities provide significant contributions to society.
In April 2003 Dentsu established the Corporate Philanthropy Department, and has implemented a variety of measures in accordance with our fundamental policy of utilizing our communication skills to benefit society, following a three-point strategy of personnel training, international cooperation, and environmental conservation.
Dentsu Corporate Philanthropy Activities
Objective
The objective of Dentsu's corporate philanthropy is to contribute, as a responsible corporate citizen, to the realization of a richer society by utilizing the company's varied capabilities and intellectual assets, while at the same time enhancing the humanity of its employees and the corporate value of Dentsu itself.
Principles for Action
- We will address issues considered essential, in terms of both overt and latent needs, for every single member of society to lead a more vibrant and happy life.
- We will address issues that have validity for Dentsu and its employees to invest their efforts in, and we will utilize the assets and network possessed by the company, as well as the abilities and skills of our employees.
- We will address issues considered necessary for communication in the broadest sense, whether they are applicable to individuals and families, local communities, or international society.
- We will undertake activities beneficial to the resolution of social issues, rather than to specific individuals or groups.
- We will aim for the involvement of as many employees as possible, for each and every employee to have a sense of responsibility as a citizen, and for a shared sense of achievement.
- We will aim for more effective social contributions through alliances with NPOs and individuals actively pursing philanthropic work.
