NPO Valid Utilization of the Mt. Fuji Weather Station
The Mt. Fuji Weather Station has concluded its operations as a meteorological observatory, and taken on a new role as part of a network of extreme environment, high-altitude research posts to survey and study such fields as transboundary air pollution, global warming, and high-altitude medicine. The station is linked with other high-altitude weather stations in Hawaii, Europe and other areas around the world, serving as one of the ”sentries for the world.“ Dentsu is drawing on its expertise in communication to provide support in the hope that the observations and research conducted at the station will produce rewarding results. In July 2007, we held the World Eco-Science Network Conference at Dentsu. This symposium gathered researchers from high-altitude weather stations around the world to discuss the mission and roles to be played by extreme environment, high-altitude research centers in addressing the issue of global warming.
