Platform: Three Business Strategies

  • In the platform domain, we are currently developing businesses based on three strategies, as shown above.
  • The first strategy is the "digital content distribution platform." We have cooperated with media organizations to create platforms such as MAGASTORE and radiko. Additionally, we have joined hands with entities such as Millmo in establishing a framework for copyright control, which will be the key to a full-scale diffusion of music, video and other digital content distribution.
  • The second strategy is the "marketing intelligence platform." In addition to carrying out joint development projects with marketing research firms, we seek to develop business in the IT solutions domain in collaboration with our IT subsidiary iSiD and US-based salesforce.com.
  • The third is the "smart grid platform," an area in which we will be focusing our efforts in the long term. It is likely that lines of communication for households will be integrated when the smart grid becomes widespread in the future. We are currently investigating the possibility of numerous business models in this area in our efforts to adapt to such changes.
