Dentsu Inc. (President: Tateo Mataki; Head Office: Tokyo; Capital 58,967.1 million yen) announced today that Dentsu Music Publishing Inc. (President: Sumio Kiga; Capital: 10 million yen), a wholly owned subsidiary of Dentsu that deals with rights pertaining to music works associated with music business development, will receive additional capital, which will boost its equity to 350 million yen. In a parallel move, Dentsu Music Publishing will be renamed Dentsu Music & Entertainment. It was also announced that Shinki Miura, who currently serves as Senior Manager of the Music Business Department of Dentsu's Entertainment Business Division, will be appointed the subsidiary's new president.

Dentsu Music Publishing was established in 1990 to offer management services in the area of music rights (publishing rights accompanying copyright royalties) associated with music business development involving advertisements, events, films and TV programs. Together with the Music Business Department of Dentsu's Entertainment Business Division, which has been responsible for the implementation of music-related events and the acquisition of music rights, Dentsu Music Publishing has driven Dentsu's music business segment.

Through the capital increase and the corporate name change, Dentsu intends to combine the planning and developing functions performed by the Music Business Department of Dentsu's Entertainment Business Division and the rights-related management services performed by Dentsu Music Publishing, so that they can be offered through the single channel of Dentsu Music & Entertainment. The Music Business Department within Dentsu's Entertainment Business Division will be disbanded, and its functions will be carried out by the subsidiary.
