Mass Media Lifetime Achievement Awards
The mass media are a vital part of our information age. Their development is a long story of struggle to overcome adversity. To honor people who have made outstanding
contributions to the development of mass media in Japan, Dentsu presents posthumous awards every five years for lifetime achievement. The awards were established on the 50th anniversary of Dentsu's founding with the Lifetime Achievement Award in Advertising. In the 55th year, the Lifetime Achievement Award in Newspapers was established, followed by the Lifetime Achievement Award in Broadcasting in Dentsu's 70th anniversary year. The honoree's name is inscribed on a nameplate affixed to his/her commemorative statue to remain for posterity. |
