Matt Connell is the National Managing Director for MKTG, Australia’s leading sports and entertainment marketing agency. He leads a team of 50 people across event operations and management, partnerships, creative and design solutions, retail marketing, brand experiences and commercial rights management.
With more than 15 years’ experience in the sports and entertainment industry, Matt joined dentsu in late 2015 before launching MKTG Australia in April 2016 to become a true global sports and entertainment business operating across 17 markets around the world with 1,500 people.
Prior to this, Matt held leadership roles with the Australian Football League (AFL), News Corp Australia and Network Ten. He has a deep understanding of how to create immersive, engaging, and creative experiences for brands that build awareness, connection and deliver meaningful business outcomes.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, staying fit and supporting his beloved Carlton Football Club.
