David acquired Merkle in 1988, becoming its 24th employee. Today, Merkle has more than 6,800 employees across 13 countries. Under David’s leadership, the agency has sustained double-digit annual growth and is recognized as a market leader by Forrester Research.
David is the author of the book, Connected CRM: Implementing a Data-Driven, Customer-Centric Business Strategy (Wiley, 2014) and is a frequent speaker and writer on the topic of people-based marketing.
He serves on the Ad Council board of directors and has also held board positions with the Direct Marketing Association and Howard County General Hospital: A Member of Johns Hopkins Medicine. He holds a BS in business administration from Shippensburg University.
