General Counsel, dentsu Americas
Kamla Alexander is General Counsel for the Americas at dentsu International. Most recently, Kamla was Senior Managing Counsel for Commercial Transactions at The Coca-Cola Company. During her extensive time with Coca-Cola, Kamla enjoyed several roles with increasing responsibility, building her capabilities in a wide variety of areas including commercial contracting, marketing, technology and IP, privacy, ethics and compliance, sports and entertainment, procurement, public affairs and litigation management. Her experience at Coca-Cola also included managing the team and portfolio of work for a variety of global commercial, customer, IT, bottler and procurement clients, as well as evaluation of certain legal technology platforms, all in an effort to implement creative legal solutions for operational growth and effectiveness.
While at Coca-Cola, Kamla also lead the U.S. Privacy Compliance program to prepare the company for the California Consumer Privacy Act. In the fall of 2018, Kamla worked in Toronto on a short-term assignment with Coca-Cola Canada to gain international experience working on the sale of the Canadian bottler, the importation and commercialization agreements for new dairy products, and a variety of other key legal issues. Prior to Coca-Cola, Kamla began her practice in complex and intellectual property litigation at an AmLaw 100 law firm until she joined The Coca-Cola Company in 2006, where she worked until joining dentsu in May 2021. Kamla received her Bachelor of Arts in English from Emory University, and her Juris Doctor from Duke University School of Law.
