Following the successful completion of the integration of the media.at group and key decisions for the realignment of Austria in the new DACH cluster, Andreas Weiss, CEO of the dentsu group in Austria, has decided to leave the agency group by best mutual agreement in favor of new professional challenges.

Under the leadership of Andreas Weiss, who has been working for dentsu for more than one and a half decades, the group with the well-known brands Carat, Vizeum, dentsuX, isobar and iProspect developed from the 7th overall place to the clear #2 in the domestic market of media agencies. Thanks to successful new business measures, the media business increased significantly over the years, making dentsu one of the country's leading agencies for integrated communication campaigns. In parallel, Weiss and his team consistently built up the future important competencies in the areas of digital media, data and performance marketing, which led to numerous noteworthy wins of local and also regional client budgets. Another important building block in the overall development was the acquisition of the media.at group with the owner-customers A1, Post, Lotterien and BAWAG, which was completed in 2017.

Statement Ulrike Handel, CEO dentsu DACH & Deutschland: "Andreas has significantly shaped dentsu and at the same time also the agency landscape in Austria over many years. He has made an extraordinary contribution to the success of our company at the country level and beyond and, above all, has also sustainably supported and advanced the business of our customers with integrated service offerings under the one.dentsu orientation. We thank Andreas as a very valued executive colleague in Austria and DACH and wish him personally all the best for the future."

Statement Andreas Weiss, CEO dentsu Österreich: "As we all know, you should leave when it's at its best. And for me personally, this is now the right time to dedicate myself to new topics and tasks. For me, dentsu was and is a great company for which I enjoyed working. I am proud that in my era dentsu has grown to one of the most important and recognized players in the market here and that the results have developed excellently, even in this year's difficult COVID year. For this I would like to thank especially my great team of one.dentsu here in Vienna! But now I am also looking forward to new tasks!"

Andreas Weiss will step down from the management board at the end of the year 2020. The agency group will be headed by the existing management team, supported by Georg Berzbach, CEO Media dentsu DACH.
