Dentsu International wins Grand Prix, and Social Good Award at World Media Awards for work with Malaria No More

Dentsu International has won the Grand Prix at the World Media Awards 2021, and the Social Good award with ‘Draw The Line’ for Malaria No More UK. Dentsu worked with non-profit organisation Malaria No More to create a global brand, campaign, and movement that would raise awareness, galvanise communities, and influence world leaders to take action to deliver the UN Sustainable Development goal to end malaria by 2030.

“Judging a Grand Prix is always enormously difficult, as you’re comparing work from so many different sectors. The winner of the 2021 World Media Grand Prix was a spectacular success. With a tiny budget, they were able to create real momentum towards the eradication of Malaria, so a huge congratulations to the whole team at dentsu.” Said Belinda Barker, Chief Executive, World Media Group.

The creative and strategy was led by Isobar Amsterdam, with Dentsu media agencies iProspect and Carat collaborating to drive media planning across multiple African markets including Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa and Zambia as well as target donor markets including the UK, USA, Japan and Australia. The digital platform was created by Isobar in collaboration with Firstborn.

Since launching in Africa in February 2021, ‘Draw the Line Against Malaria’ has continued to build momentum with a  supporting animation voiced by Grammy Award-winning Nigerian Afropop singer, songwriter, actress and activist, Yemi Alade, on World Malaria Day in April this year. Isobar UK and Malaria No More UK also launched a new interactive tracker in June to help Commonwealth countries  review progress against their commitments in the fight against malaria.
