A pretty good 48 hours on the awards front

Published on:

The last 48 hours have seen our teams across Australia and New Zealand recognised with some awesome industry and network awards, and I wanted to take a moment to celebrate that success.

Firstly, our global dentsu North Star Awards, which recognise the very best work from across our global network. It was fantastic to see ANZ teams recognised with three Golds and a Bronze.

A huge congratulations to the Reverse Media Schedules team, who picked up two Golds in the Creative Transformation and Shaping Society categories, along with a Bronze. Congratulations also to the Federal Group team, who took home Gold in the Integrated Growth Solutions category.

What I love about these wins is that they are true one dentsu solutions. They brought together talent, thinking and capability from across our business to solve client/societal challenges in a connected way. That's exactly the focus of our strategy, and it is brilliant to see it recognised on the global stage. Super proud of everyone involved.

These two Gold winners are now in the running for the Grand Prix, which is decided by employees dentsu's global network.

The good news didn't stop there.

Last night, our media teams had an outstanding result at the MFA (Media Federation Australia) Awards, taking home four category wins. Given there is only one winner in each category, that is a brilliant achievement and, by my count, close to a quarter of the campaign categories awarded on the night.

The wins included:

  • Best Content Amplification Strategy for WA Police
  • ESG Campaign for Medibank
  • Partnership Award for Medibank
  • Pro Bono/Cause Marketing for Raise the Age

Congratulations to everyone involved in those campaigns and partnerships.

Earlier in the week, we also won the Best Agency Partnership Award at the Future Campus Awards for our work with UNE. This award recognised the integration of our media, PR & social, digital and TAG capabilities, and our commitment to building excellence in client partnerships. In the words of the Vice-Chancellor and CEO, our work has been a "partnership of real value”. Congratulations Team UNE!

Lastly, the shortlist was announced for the New Zealand IAB Digital Advertising Awards, with dentsu Aotearoa again leading the shortlist with an incredible 23 finalists.

This follows last year's performance where the team was the most awarded agency and took home the Grand Prix. This year's shortlisted work includes campaigns for TVNZ, DB Breweries (Heineken), Air New Zealand, Sea Cleaners, Bay Audiology and FreshChoice. A huge congratulations to everyone involved, and fingers crossed for another strong showing when the winners are announced in November.

When you step back and look at all of this together, what stands out is not just the volume of awards. It is the diversity of the work being recognised. Media, creative, digital, social, data & technology, PR, partnerships, purpose led campaigns, commercial campaigns, integrated solutions. It speaks to the breadth of talent we have across ANZ and the quality of work we are producing for our clients every day.

Thank you and congratulations to everyone who contributed!
