Dentsu Aegis Network’s ICUC builds its position in EMEA by acquiring Tempero

Dentsu Aegis Network today announces the acquisition of Tempero, a UK-based social media management agency. Tempero’s business will transition into operating as the European arm of ICUC - Dentsu Aegis Network’s social media moderation and management agency.

Headquartered in London, Tempero is a full-service social media management agency offering integrated strategy, insights, moderation and engagement for leading global brands. With more than 11 years of community management experience across 20 languages, the agency was founded in 2003 and has grown to more than 160 professionals and strategists.

Following the acquisition, Tempero’s founder Dominic Sparkes will continue to lead his successful London-based team, reporting to Tracy de Groose, CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network UK and ICUC’s CEO and President for brand strategy, Keith Bilous. This acquisition, which brings together two strong social media agencies, both which partner with some of the world’s leading brands, further strengthens ICUC’s position as a global leader in social media management.

“This acquisition reinforces ICUC and Dentsu Aegis Network’s leadership position in social media management. Extending into EMEA is critical for business growth and we are very excited about the next steps in realising our global strategy”, said Keith Bilous, CEO and President of ICUC. “With brands increasingly needing to protect and manage their business online, the combination of ICUC and Tempero creates a powerful offering for today’s market demands”, he added.

Tracy de Groose, CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network UK said: “Tempero is a top flight social media management agency. Bringing Tempero into ICUC adds another dimension to our full-service offering in the UK. We welcome Dominic and his 160-strong team to the company.”

“This is an incredible opportunity to join a thriving business. We are excited to be part of Dentsu Aegis, a strong and growing network that has an outstanding reputation for servicing and building the largest brands in the world” said Dominic Sparkes, CEO of ICUC EMEA.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
