DCPR strengthens Queensland lineup with senior appointment
Dentsu Creative Public Relations (DCPR) has welcomed senior communications specialist Sue Tierney as Business Director – Agribusiness and Government, expanding its Queensland footprint.
While Tierney’s responsibilities will span its national business, leading the PR practice’s agribusiness and government arm, she will have a fierce focus on growth in the QLD market. She joins a team of 6 Brisbane-based PR practitioners and is backed by the established Dentsu QLD brand.
The appointment follows Dentsu Creative’s successful bid to several Queensland Government creative panels, and client growth in the state. Recent client wins include insurance, F&B, sport, tourism and agribusiness sectors. Based in Brisbane, Ms Tierney brings more than 20 years’ experience across Queensland Government and agency roles.
Having led communication and engagement functions for several Queensland Government departments, she has successfully led large-scale behavioural change and public relations programs across community safety, public health, innovation, science and environmental sustainability. She is recognised for her strategic leadership in driving impact and momentum.
Madeleine Page, General Manager – Earned and Social, says the appointment reflects DCPR’s clear strategic focus for Queensland. “Queensland is a priority growth market for us, particularly across government and agribusiness where there is increasing demand for experienced, on-the-ground communications support,” Ms Page said. “Sue brings deep expertise and a strong understanding of how government operates, which is critical in delivering work that has impact and is grounded in real stakeholder environments.”
Ms Tierney says the breadth of the role was a key reason for joining the business. “There’s a real opportunity here to bring together government insight with industry and community engagement, particularly in sectors like agriculture, tourism and investment attraction that are so critical to Queensland, particularly in the lead up to the 2032 Games,” she said. “DCPR has strong momentum in the market, and I’m looking forward to building on that and delivering meaningful outcomes for our clients, locally and Australia-wide.”
Emily Cook, Managing Director, Dentsu Queensland says clients in the market are increasingly wanting broader capability. “We are seeing increasing demand for earned and paid media channels working together to drive real impact for our clients. The growth in Queensland in the PR space over the last 3 years has been exponential, and Sue joining the team will further enhance the earned craft for our clients.” DCPR’s Queensland-based team includes its established consumer PR practise.
