Happy 21st Show to Cox Inall

This year marks the 21st time Cox Inall Communications has saddled up to help The Sydney Royal Easter Show tell the story of agriculture and rural communities to New South Wales.

Cox Inall Communications, BWM Dentsu’s specialist agribusiness agency, has been the Easter Show’s public relations partner since 1997, creating the longest standing client-agency relationship in the country.

The Cox Inall team will again head to the Royal Agricultural Society (RAS) of New South Wales’ Easter Show site at Sydney Olympic Park this week to help promote what is the largest ticketed event in Australia, attracting close to 850,000 visitors each year.

Murray Wilton, RAS General Manager Agriculture & Sydney Royal Easter Show, said the Easter Show and Cox Inall partnership was built on shared values and objectives; to celebrate excellence and demonstrate the importance of the farming and food industries to NSW.

“We at the RAS congratulate Cox Inall on its 21st anniversary of working with us on the Sydney Royal Easter Show,” Mr Wilton said.

“Ours has been a very close and professional association which has seen us unlock some of the great stories about rural NSW at this annual meeting of city and country.

“The 2018 Show is shaping to be a huge hit with Showgoers and that is in no small part because of how our teams have worked together to promote what we have in store.”

Sniffing out the hundreds of stories and talent that feed media interest in the build-up, and during, the show is a joint effort between the RAS’s agriculture team, marketing and media team and Cox Inall.

Cox Inall Communications managing director, Tim Powell, who has worked on every Show since 1997, said the longevity of the partnership was testament to the agency’s finely-honed understanding of agriculture and regional affairs, as well as belief in the Show’s cause.

“We have evolved with the Show – riding the shift from Moore Park to the Sydney Olympic Park site, integrating social media and influencers into the Show’s marketing program, and re-thinking how we PR the Show in a shifting media and demographic landscape,” Mr Powell said.

“Some of our best staff cut their teeth as Show interns, and have gone onto senior careers in Cox Inall and beyond. It is a real privilege to be trusted as the Sydney Royal Easter Show’s long-term PR partner and counsel,” he said.

The Sydney Royal Easter Show opens on Friday 23 March and ends on Tuesday 3 April.
