Strategy Director, dentsu Southeast Europe

Are you an impactful strategic mind, who can lead our world-class strategic and insight capabilities to help our client grow? Join us as a Strategy Director to solve our client’s business challenges across the Southeast Europe – Romania, Bulgaria, and Croatia. 

In this role, you will be guiding business objectives, insight generation, selling narratives, working with integrated media and creative briefs, out-of-the-box media solutions, strategic POVs and go-to market plans. Part of the responsibilities is delivering thought leadership and awarded ideas to clients.

You will be a leader who contributes to brand strategy, builds solid relationships with clients across all levels and functions, and is able to play an active “hands-on” role in the deployment of strategic plans. 

Key Accountabilities:
• Lead thinking to inspire innovative solutions, creativity and a proactive approach across brands and categories.
• Develop media audience strategy, touch points, and content consumption behavior to inform media and creative teams on overall media approach for lead markets across Southeast Europe – Romania, Bulgaria, and Croatia.
• Ensure delivery of strategic plan recommendations based on clear data driven insights.
• Leads and directs new business efforts with a clear understanding of the agencies go-to market strategy.
• Exemplify collaboration by building and maintaining productive relationships across all communications areas (internal teams and agency partners).
• Contribute and drive development of product working with operations, planning, analytics, and other teams.
• Leverage data and research to identify marketing opportunities and paid media budget prioritization across markets and platforms for B2B and B2C segments.
• Establish measurement framework that better reflects business results and boost media planning and creative accordingly.
• Leverage client end to end first party data to build and inform media strategies.
• Demonstrates and fosters a collaborative work environment in which ideas flourish

Experience & Expertise
• Considerable leadership experience (+7 years), developed in a relevant media business or commercial environment, that evidences a strong understanding of budgets, forecasting and financial controls, including ownership of profit and loss; project management, and resource allocation.
• Excellent knowledge across the Southeast European media market landscape and especially Romania, Bulgaria, and Croatia.
• Strong media marketing experience from strategy development to execution.
• An exceptional track record of the development of successful commercial, sponsorship and affinity partnerships.
• Ability to think beyond “media” as an active collaborator in the Integrated Marketing Communications process.
• Digital mindset/fluency and an insatiable curiosity with flexibility and agility to manage complex processes.
• Strategic thinker, seeing the bigger picture, with ability to analyze and think critically when solving problems to come up with unconventional solutions.
• Bachelor's Degree, concentration in Advertising, Marketing, Economics, Business Administration, or Communications preferred; MBA is a bonus.

• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, presentational and pitching skills combined with the ability to influence at all levels, and in complex stakeholder environments.
• Ability to influence, engage and motivate highly talented people to inspire great performance across departments
• A collaborative management style and an excellent people manager who can delegate responsibilities effectively; demonstrated by leadership in managing teams, setting clear objectives, and managing performance.
• Outstanding sales management skills
