Dentsu Aegis Network Partners with Ad Council During Bullying Prevention Month

NEW YORK — October 15, 2019 ­– Dentsu Aegis Network is partnering with the Ad Council’s “Because of You” campaign to engage the media community on a pro bono basis and drive meaningful impact around the issue of bullying prevention. October is Bullying Prevention Month, an opportune time to reach teens and remind them of how their behavior can affect others.

Dentsu Aegis Network leveraged its talent and media expertise to inform targeted donated media outreach and placement to reach teens. The company was able to secure more than 14 million impressions through donated media from top teen-focused channels.

Because of You acknowledges the impact—for better or for worse—that words and actions have on others. The public service announcements, created pro bono by ad agency TBD, ask viewers to think about how they might make others feel before they do or say something. Teens who want to learn more can go to BecauseOfYou.org to use an interactive tool that encourages self-reflection by focusing on specific actions, such as exclusion, shaming or escalation. The campaign’s mission is to inspire teenagers to create an inclusive culture for themselves and their peers.

Supporting the Ad Council on this campaign is part of the Dentsu Aegis Network’s overall commitment to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This work specifically supports SDG number three, to “ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.” The SDGs were adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015 as a universal call to take action and address key issues by 2030, protecting the planet and ensuring that all people enjoy peace and prosperity. Each goal helps develop a balanced mission on social, economic and environmental sustainability efforts.
