Chief Technology Officer, dentsu Americas
John Donnarumma is an experienced and accomplished leader with over 25 years of Information Technology leadership experience. He has held multiple senior executive positions, leading teams responsible for managing information technology strategy, operations, and infrastructure for global organizations.
In his current role at dentsu, John is responsible for strategic direction of technology, operational excellence, business growth initiatives and innovative solutions – for both internal & external clients - that are powered by intelligent, data-driven AI solutions, grounded in forward-looking AdTech/MarTech stacks, delivered by modern processes and solid governance.
Prior to joining dentsu, John was the Global Chief Information Officer at GroupM, where he led IT and digital transformation. As a member of their global Executive Committee, he developed and implemented an information technology strategy overseeing people, processes, and technologies to ensure delivery of outcomes that supported the business goals. He created and chaired a joint business/IT governance process that prioritized and approved all IT investments as well as developed multiple proprietary software applications and products that created hundreds of millions of dollars and a competitive advantage.
John has also held various senior roles at WPP and MEC where he executed and managed two large, outsourced deals with IBM for IT services across all WPP’s operating companies. He was also instrumental in the merger of WPP’s media brands to create GroupM and a key contributor to the design of the global IT strategy and execution across all North American offices. He merged the technology and the teams of these businesses to create a single IT platform and a new business model.
John earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Fordham University. He has held leadership positions in the American Association of Advertising Agencies Technology Committee and has served as a Board Member with the Fordham University Advisory Board. He is a frequent guest lecturer at Fordham University in The Ground Floor Program.
